Lewis operates out of the Tri-City region of Michigan. We are centrally located in Bay City.
While the state of Michigan is our target area, we are centralized within the Tri-City region (Bay City, Saginaw, Midland). However, historic districts both north and south of us such as Traverse City, Charlevoix, Flint, Grand Rapids, and Detroit - are all areas we happily serve. If you have questions about your project location, please contact us. (https://www.lewisheritagehomes.com/contact)
We work with all sorts of clients, from long term homeowners of large homes and estates, to new homeowners of smaller homes and everything in between. Lewis takes pride in being able to offer services to a wide range of clients and project sizes.
We don't think so. However, we'll work with you to identify a solution and project plan that is most effective. For example, if a project is large, it may be best to break the project up into phases. If small, it may be advised to group multiple smaller projects into one. If you have questions about the size of your project, contact us. (https://www.lewisheritagehomes.com/contact)
Yes. It is not uncommon for us to work on a new build where we design the home in the architectural style of a specific period (e.g., Tudor (https://www.lewisheritagehomes.com/thompsonresidenceexteriordesign)or Georgian)(https://www.lewisheritagehomes.com/georgianconcept). Some homeowners also wish to add "historical" details to a newer home. If you have questions, please contact us. (https://www.lewisheritagehomes.com/contact)
Part of our business model is providing greater flexibility for our clients. This means during initial consultations, an hourly rate is advised. As the project progresses, clients have the option to upgrade to a comprehensive plan, or remain at the hourly rate - whichever is most cost effective.
Think of Lewis as the project manager. We are extremely involved in the building process, ensuring those executing the design stay on task, target, and within predetermined guidelines. Projects never go unsupervised, and we provide our clients with regular updates and progress reports.
We partner with contractors, artisans, and tradespeople we trust. So while we don't build ourselves, we always act on our client's behalf with all tradespeople involved in the project.
Some clients, for small project, prefer to pay up front using cash or check. However, larger projects may be divided into deliverables and specific timelines (e.g., 3, 6, 9, 12 month payment schedules). Payment frequency varies from project to project. If you have specific questions about payment, please contact us. (https://www.lewisheritagehomes.com/contact)
Many factors can influence the price of a project. Some of the most common include; space (size of property), building materials, availability of resources, and contractors. Each project varies, and where budget is a concern, we'll work with you to maximize value and minimize unnecessary expense.
We've found that active and engaged clients make the process run smoothly and significantly increase the probability of success and satisfaction. While we offer a vast array of services, we welcome routine design input from our clients on a regular basis - after all, while we are preservers and caretakers of old homes, you are the owner and your satisfaction is our top priority.
The total length of your project is quite difficult to predict. With that said, Lewis makes every attempt to update homeowners on a regular basis of project status, and works to remove impediments and roadblocks that may delay progress. Our goal is not to work as fast as possible, but rather to ensure quality of work remains as high as possible while staying within time and budget.
We accept most major forms of payment, including cash, check, or credit card. If you have specific questions about regarding payment type, please contact us. (https://www.lewisheritagehomes.com/contact)
